On the occasion of World Environment Day, Vayonadha was proud to participate in a thought-provoking seminar hosted by FARMNET Agro Farmers Producer Company Ltd. in association with SFAC Kerala. The event was a gathering of passionate minds dedicated to sustainability, rural development, and the future of farming in Kerala.

Held at the FARMNET Farmers Hub, the event brought together leaders, innovators, and grassroots changemakers, all of whom shared a common belief: that the future of our planet is rooted in the soil — quite literally.

What the Event Was About ?

The seminar highlighted the urgent need for sustainable farming practices and the role of innovation in agriculture. Keynote speakers like:

  • Mr. N.P. Rajeev (Former Vice Chairman, National Innovation Foundation; Executive Director, Vibha Vani India Society)
  • Mr. Yadukrishna (Tropical Agro Systems)

Shared insights on building climate-resilient agricultural systems, enhancing indigenous knowledge, and enabling tech-driven growth for small and marginal farmers.

Knowledge Shared, Seeds Planted

A major highlight of the event was a dedicated session led by agricultural experts, who shared practical insights on:

  • Organic manures and composting techniques suitable for paddy cultivation.
  • Eco-friendly pest management methods for coconut plantations.
  • How to replace chemical inputs with bio-solutions that improve soil health and crop yield.
  • The importance of soil testing, microbial boosters, and traditional knowledge in managing pests and diseases.

This session was incredibly valuable for both experienced and aspiring farmers. It reinforced the importance of working with nature instead of against it, especially when cultivating traditional crops like paddy and coconut.

Team Vayonadha’s Role & Reflections (Farming is not a fallback. It’s a future-forward path.)

At Vayonadha, we were deeply inspired by the conversations that took place. Our team believes that environmental stewardship and farming innovation must go hand-in-hand. We were especially moved by the collective emphasis on youth inclusion in farming — a vision that closely aligns with our core mission.

Our Commitment Going Forward

At Vayonadha, we are more determined than ever to:

  • Create learning and volunteering programs for young people who want to explore farming.
  • Support farmers in adopting regenerative, organic, and climate-smart practices.
  • Collaborate with local institutions and farmer networks like FARMNET to scale impact.
  • Document and share traditional knowledge, while bridging it with modern techniques.
  • Launch “Farm for Future” initiatives aimed at turning agriculture into an aspirational livelihood.

As we step into the post-Environment Day momentum, we want to say this to every young dreamer out there:We at Vayonadha are here to guide, mentor, and co-create this journey with you.
